It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Karen Joy Morris, 44 years, of Springhill, on Thursday, June 20, 2024 in the Halifax Infirmary Hospital.   Born in Englewood, New Jersey, she was a daughter of Helen (Burke) and the late Ross Morris.

Karen moved to Port Greville, NS, from Englewood in 1994.  She graduated from Parrsboro High School in 1998 and then NSCC in 2003.  She volunteered as secretary treasurer for the Lions Club, Springhill for many years.

Karen was devoted to giving back to her community, volunteering with many different organizations. She was a faithful member of her church, giving of herself when she was able including teaching within the Sunday School.

Karen will be dearly missed by her mother, Helen Morris; her son, Ryker; her aunt, Ellen Priester, NJ; special friends, Angel Linkletter and Tabatha McCully; close cousins, Starr and Debbie, as well as her fur-baby, Wilbur.

Karen was predeceased by her father, Ross with whom she had a deeply strong bond.  She was also predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Myrtle & Herman Priester; her paternal grandparents, Emiline and Earl Morris, as well as her uncle, Clifford Priester.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361).  Visitation will be held at the Open Arms Church, Parrsboro on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 12 pm until the time of the funeral at 2 pm. Pastor Doug Lake officiating. Interment to follow in the Grace United Church Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Karen may be made to the Open Arms Church, Parrsboro or the Heart & Stroke foundation.
